This one might shock you. A survey by Rutgers University found a tremendous amount of academic dishonesty and outright cheating in our nation’s high schools. 24,000 students were surveyed from across the country, with over 70 schools participating. They found that 64% of students admitted to cheating on a test and 58% admitted to knowingly plagiarizing on a paper at least once in the previous 12 months. Overall, 95% of students admitted to at least some form of academic dishonesty, whether it be copying homework, looking up answers to a quiz on their phone, or any other method of cheating.

It’s not hard to understand why so many teens are cheating in school. Especially when students attend high-performance high-stress schools, there is pressure from teachers and fellow students to always do better. Oftentimes, between academics and extracurricular, a student will reach a point where they can’t prepare for that one test, or write that one essay. Unfortunately, if they are caught, that student can face an F, a mark in their record, or even suspension.

That’s where ConnectPrep comes in. We are here to ensure that your child has a support to lean on when they have trouble learning a new concept, or difficulty working through a paper. We help our students develop stress-reduction techniques and teach them how to best use their limited time to study their material, write their essays, and complete their assignments. We head off trouble before it hits.
